Three Books. One Bigger Purpose: Crookd Crown Publishing Invests in the Future of Our Youth

At Crookd Crown Publishing, we have always believed that success means more when it creates opportunities for someone else.

Today, we're taking that belief even further.

All proceeds from Hustle Reimagined: An Entrepreneur's Guide to Beating the Odds and The 8 Laws of Hustle: The New Psychology of Self-Made Success will now be donated to Boys & Girls Clubs of America.

Our commitment connected to It Just Works: Real Stories & Behavioral Science From the Earned Living Unit will remain the same: 50% of proceeds support the Boys & Girls Club and 50% support initiatives within the Earned Living Unit (ELU).

Why Our Youth?

Because we truly want our youth to succeed.

We talk frequently about second chances, rehabilitation, personal growth and changing lives. But one of the most powerful things we can do is reach young people before they need a second chance.

Young people need opportunities. They need mentors. They need safe environments. They need people who believe in them. And they need examples showing them that where they begin does not have to determine where they finish.

That's why this decision means so much to us.

Books About Success Should Help Create It

Hustle Reimagined was written for people determined to overcome obstacles, rethink entrepreneurship and create opportunities even when the odds are against them.

The 8 Laws of Hustle takes that message further, exploring the mindset, discipline, resilience, leadership and psychology behind becoming self-made.

If these books are going to teach people about success, entrepreneurship, personal development, resilience and changing their lives, we believe their success should also help create opportunities for the next generation.

Now, purchasing either book doesn't only mean investing in your own growth.

You're helping invest in theirs.

It Just Works: Connecting Rehabilitation With Prevention

Our newest work, It Just Works, represents another side of the same mission.

Written by Brandon D. Cox and Jermaine F. Ferguson, the book documents the culture developing within the Earned Living Unit at MCF-Stillwater and examines the behavioral science behind accountability, leadership, personal growth, peer influence, community and rehabilitation.

The men within the ELU are demonstrating that incarceration does not eliminate someone's ability to contribute to society.

We want to bring those men with us.

That is why the proceeds from It Just Works remain divided between supporting youth through the Boys & Girls Club and supporting positive initiatives within the Earned Living Unit.

It connects two ideas we believe belong in the same conversation:

Prevention and rehabilitation.

Invest in young people before they enter the criminal justice system. And create meaningful opportunities for people who are already incarcerated to change, lead, mentor and give something positive back.

Redefining What Hustle Looks Like

There was a time when hustle meant survival.

Today, we believe hustle can mean something more.

It can mean building a business.

Writing a book.

Mentoring someone.

Changing your thinking.

Taking accountability.

Helping your community.

Creating opportunities for young people you may never personally meet.

And using whatever success you achieve to make the road a little easier for the person coming behind you.

That's the kind of success Crookd Crown Publishing wants to represent.

Three Books. A Bigger Purpose.

This isn't a temporary promotion.

It's a statement about what we want our publishing company and our work to stand for.

We're authors. We're entrepreneurs. We're mentors. We're incarcerated men working to demonstrate that our ability to positively affect the world did not disappear when the prison doors closed behind us.

Most importantly, we're fathers and men who understand how much the right guidance, opportunity and support can matter in a young person's life.

We cannot change every young person's circumstances.

But we can use what we have.

We can use our books.

We can use our voices.

We can use our platform.

And we can give back.

Because the greatest measure of success isn't simply how far you make it. It's how many people you help move forward with you.
