Today is more than a music release.
It's a milestone.
With the release of "Good Mourning" by King B, we're celebrating more than a new record—we're celebrating transformation, accountability, second chances, and the people who make those things possible.
At Crookd Crown Publishing, our mission has never been limited to publishing books or releasing music. Every project we create is built around one idea: proving that a person's worst decision does not have to define the rest of their life.
Good Mourning represents that mission.
The title is a play on words, but the meaning runs much deeper. While most people hear "Good Morning," this song is about Good Mourning—mourning the version of yourself that no longer deserves to lead your life.
It's about putting to rest the late-night high-speed chases, the sleepless nights, the fear, the violence, the missed birthdays, the pain caused to loved ones, and the street mentality that convinced so many of us that survival was enough.
Every sunrise becomes another opportunity to bury that version of yourself and continue building the person you were meant to become.
For me, this song is deeply personal.
It reflects the journey from a young man whose name once appeared in headlines for all the wrong reasons to someone now recognized for leadership, mentorship, writing, advocacy, and creating opportunities for others. It reflects years of accountability, growth, and learning that true hustle isn't measured by what you take—it's measured by what you build.
That message is at the heart of everything we do at Crookd Crown Publishing.
Whether it's Hustle Reimagined, The 8 Laws of Hustle, It Just Works, or the music we're releasing today, our goal remains the same: create work that inspires people to believe transformation is possible and challenges them to redefine what success, leadership, and hustle truly look like.
Celebrating Beau Rara
This release also gives me the opportunity to celebrate someone who has become far more than an attorney.
Beau Rara has become family.
There are people who represent cases, and then there are people who represent people.
Beau has always seen the human being before the file.
Where others might see mistakes, Beau sees potential.
Where others might see labels, Beau sees growth.
Where others might focus on punishment, Beau believes rehabilitation and redemption deserve a voice.
That belief changes lives.
Families are reunited because someone refused to stop believing in the person behind the conviction.
Hope is restored because someone chose compassion over judgment.
Dreams that seemed impossible suddenly become worth fighting for again.
Those are the kinds of victories that rarely make headlines, yet they change generations.
One of the most meaningful verses in Good Mourning is dedicated to Beau—not simply because of legal representation, but because of unwavering belief, genuine compassion, and the reminder that one person willing to see the best in another can change the course of a life.
For that, I am forever grateful.
This Is Bigger Than One Song
Good Mourning isn't just another release.
It's another chapter in a much bigger story.
Crookd Crown Publishing continues to expand through books, music, advocacy, and creative projects that encourage accountability, resilience, entrepreneurship, and personal transformation. We're committed to publishing meaningful stories, amplifying overlooked voices, and creating content that leaves a lasting impact on individuals, families, and communities.
This song is proof that growth can be documented.
That healing can be heard.
That accountability can become art.
And that legacy is built one decision at a time.
To everyone who has supported this journey, listened to the music, read the books, shared our story, or believed in the mission—thank you.
This is only the beginning.
Welcome to Good Mourning.
Every sunrise is another chance to become someone your past never imagined.
